I have had my Ford Heritage F150 for almost 10 years. I bought it as a "one owner" trade in back in 2009 which had roughly 70,000 miles on it at that time. As the second owner of this truck, it was very clear to me that the original owner took care of this truck. Naturally, with the truck being a 4x4 it has the usual scuffs and scratches of what could be expected in a 4x4.. Absent new tires, brakes, rotors and a new battery, my truck has performed relatively "trouble free' UNTIL the transmission started acting up. In any event, I am very "picky" on who I let perform even an oil change on my truck and when I realized I now had a transmission problem, I knew that the repairs would probably be costly, but more importantly to me, it wasn't the money to repair my truck, but I needed to have a degree of TRUST in where I got the transmission repaired. I searched around on the Internet and found a couple of excellent customer review rated transmission shops and from that, I chose Mr. Transmission based essentially on nothing more than "customer reviews" of the business. I know that Mr. Transmission is a well known name, but so are each and every Burger King in the nation, as each are independently owned and operated. So, to me, the "name" of a business doesn't matter much. What mattered to me was an HONEST and fair estimate for what my truck needed and a warranty to back it up. In any event, based primarily on the many, many positive customer reviews I took my truck to Mr. Transmission. I called to schedule an appointment and talked to Rick. I sat in his office and he and I talked as if we had been school friends. Rick was patient and understanding with me and assured me that my truck's transmission would be repaired, backed by an unlimited mileage/1 yr. guarantee. Based upon my interaction with Rick, along with his knowledge of transmission repair, etc., I felt safe in leaving my truck to be checked out and see what needed to be done. The next day, Rick called me and explained in detail what my transmission needed as far as repairs which was basically a full transmission rebuild. He gave me the estimate and I agreed. Rick called me to advise me that my truck was ready. I went down to pick up my truck and the original estimate Rick quoted was spot on. No extra charges. No "hidden" findings or anything. Rick advised me to bring my truck back in for a 14 day "check-up" inspection, which I did. On the day I took my truck back to Mr. Transmission for the inspection, it was very busy as cars were coming in what seemed to be every 20 minutes. I then figured I would end up having to leave my truck for a day or two for this inspection especially since I didn't schedule the appointment but just "dropped in". Rick asked me if I could hang around for about 10 minutes and he would put my truck next in line to be inspected. Sure enough, Rick got one of his transmission mechanics to take the truck out for a test drive and to ensure everything was working properly, especially after a major repair as a transmission rebuild on a 4 wheel drive truck. Come to find out, within 30 minutes, the mechanic came back from the test drive and felt the need to "tweak" up a couple of adjustments. Rick advised me that it could be maybe 2 days and with all the vehicles coming in for repairs, I felt 2 days was great. I rarely take the time to write any review on anything. But this time, I felt the need to express my experience with Mr. Transmission as well as my interactions with the manager, "Rick". But now I have "Big Green" back, fully repaired, tweaked and the truck runs and drives GREAT. I am glad that I have found a business where customer service and customer satisfaction are paramount and as such, I will never hesitate to take my truck or any vehicle for that matter, to Mr. Transmission because I have 100% faith and trust in what Rick says, plus his mechanics who in my opinion went above and beyond just "repairing another transmission". I strongly recommend the Mr. Transmission in Johnson City, TN.
Repairing todays vehicles is not easy but we work very hard at staying on top of our quickly changing industries. Your review makes it well worth it. Thank you so much.
